As in the first StarGaze, this program presents colossal images taken by the Hubble Position Telescope (HST) . However, images taken from other sources (examples: CHANDRA X-ray telescope, Spitzer residence telescope, and the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, SOHO) are also included. All images are accompanied by Current Age music. (A different Fresh Age band is faded from that of the first StarGaze.)

Before I say anything else, the images presented in this program are glowing, awe-inspiring, and jaw dropping. These images should be seen by every Earthling so everybody can experience the unbelievable beauty of the universe.

The main menu for this program is as follows:

1. Play

2. Chapters or scenes (there are 12 chapters)

3. What’s that?

4. StarGaze II HD (read the on-screen instructions for this option)

5. Audio and Subtitle Selection

6. Credits (for all images and music presented)

The first item in this menu to go to is “5. Audio and Subtitle Selection”. The only subtitle language selection available is English. Turning this on enables the name of the celestial object to be displayed on the bottom of the hide. (It’s significant to have this on. I’ll interpret *why later.) For audio background selection, you have two choices. Decide the one that works for your DVD player. (For those people who do not like Recent Age music, it is possible thus not to have any music by selecting the choice that does not work for your DVD player.)

This program has no narration. Instead when you approach to an image, you press the menu button on your remote that brings you to an information conceal about the image. (*This is why it’s distinguished to have the English subtitles on since they alert you to a fresh image.) After you’ve read the information mask, you salvage aid to the main program by pressing the menu button again and the program resumes. All this is explained in the “3. What’s that? ” piece of the main menu. (For those with terrible eyesight, I suggest engrossing conclude to your veil as the printed information for each image is quite dinky.) So the view is to do this “menu-information screen-menu” routine for every image in this program. Sound easy? It is. However, there’s a **problem with this that I’ll define below.

The information cloak for each image has three sections:

(i) Composed image of the object in question

(ii) Five facts about the object: (a) its dwelling (b) constellation its in (c) its distance from Earth (d) the instrument venerable to bewitch its image and (e) a credit for the image. (I feel facts a and b were unnecessary.)

(iii) A detailed description of the image.

All of this takes time to read.

The extraordinary images in the program can be divided into three parts:

(I) Covers chapters (1 to 5) and lasts objective over 25 minutes. There are nearly 70 images for this portion. Here there are visuals of deep site that include nebulae, distant galaxies, galactic clusters, and other exotic objects. These are static images but the camera keeps though-provoking across them giving the illusion of movement.

(II) Covers chapter 6 and lasts nearly 5 minutes. Here you find composites of the solar system’s planets (including Pluto and its moon) as well as a comet, meteorites, and the sun. A 3-D peruse is created which I found acceptable but some people may regain this odd.

(III) Covers chapter (7 to 12) and lasts about 30 minutes. There are more than 85 images in this fraction. The same types of objects as in fragment one are imaged but with different instruments to protest greater detail. Some recent objects are also presented.

For those keeping track, there are over 170 images in this program. This brings up the **problem alluded to above. There are objective too many information screens to access and read! In fact, I found it impossible (without getting bored stiff and having my eyesight going) to access them all in one sitting. Instead I viewed this program over twelve sittings (one sitting per chapter) .

Finally, I deem the plot to glean around the above dilemma was to have narration that abbreviated the information given on the information screens for each object. You could collected have the detailed information mask for each image available as an option.

In conclusion, barring the one dilemma mentioned above, this is an fantastic visual, audio, and educational delight, demonstrating unprejudiced an infinitesimally diminutive number of cosmic wonders that are in our broad universe!!!

**** 1/2

(2004; 1 hr; wide screen; 12 chapters)

+++++

First things first. The images are spectacular! The music is better! But no narration? I know we all complained about the Stargaze I narration being bland (me included), but damn! What a major harm in the a** to flip befriend and fourth in the menu to score information on the image being shown. The text is grand, but they could of gotten Patrick Stewart to do it or someone that does not save you to sleep. I like to hear about I’m seeing. Even that being said the pics are worth 4 stars. Those 3D images are kind of humorous, but acceptable. We need stargaze III with narration please. GO HUBBLE!!! Go to www.region.com!

Trigun continues to entertain and Pioneer continues to command the highest quality product. This DVD shines with thoughtfully designed chapters (which allow you to jump past the intros, intermissions, and credits straight to the deliver) and the highest quality video and sound. The represent is crisp, with the deep reds and blues that were clearly intended for its presentation.

In this particular series, after wrapping up the cliffhanger (literally) from the kill of Volume 2, a modern character foil is introduced in the yarn of Vash the Stampede. Wolfwood, whose history is only hinted at, develops a comraderie with Vash that yields mutual curiousity and occasional sparks between the two. Overall, you’ll be left with the venerable Trigun feel – tough times, mostly nobody got distress, and hidden internal turmoil on the share of Vash. More clues are dropped about his origins…and more allusions to a adore interest…

Thumbs up!

So far the whole Trigun series is ample. Not a lot of fighting, gun play, no course language, and no sex. This is a astronomical series for young and outmoded. If you admire beneficial amine then rep this series!

TWO WRONGS DON’T Fabricate A WRITER Mary and Ted both help a night school creative writing course, and have a major falling out when Ted plagiarizes Mary’s assignment.

I WAS A SINGLE FOR WJM Mary does a news sage about singles bars, but nobody is willing to be interviewed on camera.

Season 4 of MTM shows the 70’s in bulky swing; Mary has bangs and a more natural hairstyle (no more falls like in Season 1) and no longer only wears skirts and dresses to work. Yes, for better or worse, this is the dawn of the wide-legged pantsuit. Can Mary pull it off? Of course she can!

Mary has redecorated her apartment and everything is beige, beige, beige; this could fair be the camera filter but what a relief when the action switches to Rhoda’s shining digs upstairs. Sadly, this is also Valerie Harper’s last season on MTM as Rhoda will have her eponymously-titled explain the following season.

There are less establishing shots of the house Mary and Rhoda live in because it’s obviously a different, and less charming, home. (The reason for this is explained on a documentary on the Season 2 set; the owner of the recent home no longer wanted the house to be included on the prove.) And the display now focuses most of its time on the workplace. As compared to earlier seasons, there are far fewer “Mary’s romantic predicament!” episodes and more time is given to Ted and Lou, while Murray smooth patiently sits at his desk delivering one-liners. And showing that things have arrive a long scheme, Mary spends less time at work making coffee for Lou and is a indispensable asset to WJM and a competent careerwoman.

Season Four has any number of classic episodes: “The Dinner Party” featuring a young and very droll Henry Winkler, “The Lars Affair” which has a classic confrontation between Phyllis and Sue Ann and my personal popular of the entire series, “Two Wrongs Don’t Earn a Writer” when Ted and Mary buy a writing class together only to have Ted recall Mary’s assignment. To try and report this episode any more wouldn’t do it justice, but it’s a comedic high point and is one of the only times Mary really loses her frosty. Another vital episode, “Cottage for Sale”, starts off slowly but ends up a very agreeable episode that showcases Edward Asner’s Lou Grant at his vulnerable best — and as the creator of the beer omelet.

The lack of extras is a bit disappointing, but otherwise this latest release of Mary and friends is impartial what we all need. Meow.

When the first puny of the movie involves a awful trick-cut of a woman disappearing during a tennis match, you know you’re in for it.

I admit I have seen this movie twice. Not because it was actually a first-rate movie- far from it!- but because I felt the need to spread the joy to my friends; the joy that is Tommy Kirk’s alien colleague explaining, completely deadpan, how gargantuan it would be for their woman-finding mission if one of the candidates was well-versed in sex and genetics, ‘both fundamentally and as it applies to location!’

I give this one star because z-movies deserve nothing more. If they are truly classics, as this one’s title suggests, one star is a badge of honour. MNW does not dissappoint in the cheese department and I was cackling out loud through most of it (and howling by the climax) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mars Needs Women! Click Here

WARNING: Lots of stock footage here, folks. Many Amazon viewers have mentioned how completely dull this movie was, most of which was due to a diminutive tic in the director’s brain that must have repeated to him over and over: “I’ve got ten minutes of footage of a plane taking off, and by gum, I’m going to Utilize it!!”

The premise, title, acting, situation and dialogue completely construct up for this in my plan, but feel free to fast-forward through the following scenes:

-The strip-tease that isn’t really

-Hypnotization! (actually all the hypnotizing made me want to drop asleep)

-Another strip-tease

-A ample allotment of a football game

-Any scene with a plane

The gloomy thing is, there is some sub-decent acting and intruiging symbolism buried under all the nonsense and wonderfully horrendous exposition. However, the state goes all over the residence and can’t resolve whether its beget characters are rapists, lechers or objective lonely, and ends up being all three at times(creepily enough) .

Yes, it might be a limited boring in patches, but those priding themselves on B-movie stamina should definitely select this one for a breeze. All the elements are here: Laughably quotable dialogue, wooden acting, bizarre views on sex (all the more intruiging considering the lead, Tommy Kirk, was ousted from Disney for being supposedly happy), questionable science, misplaced ‘drama’, clumsy editing, bizarre leaps of logic not seen since ‘Plan 9′, enormous gaping region holes, poor special effects, wonderful amounts of pure Swiss cheese and a phrase to rival that of “Soylent green is people” in terms of yelling value.

This one is golden. And having to fast-forward the nude-less so-called strip-tease unprejudiced makes it funnier.

… except that I assume that I’m being unfair to paint. There are movies like Notion 9 From Outer Location that are so terrible they’re advantageous. There are movies like Monster-a-Go-Go that are so unpleasant they’re simply torture. But Mars Needs Women is a whole current kind of bad: it’s a movie which is so incredibly slow that you’ll need some heavy stimulants to pause awake through it all. This film is only for the hardest of the hard-core poor movie buffs, and the only reason to discover it is to say that you did. If you’re in this category, my advice is to observe it for 20 minutes, do something else more challenging (you won’t have any inconvenience finding something — even staring off into region would do it) and then scrutinize another 20 minutes etc. until you’re done with it. I give it one extra star because I actually liked what tiny residence there was — properly edited, it would have made a decent half-hour movie. I sleep now.

Season 2 is the final outing of Eli Stone, and many viewers will have many questions unanswered. However, we do know that Elis visions in Season 1 respond some of those questions [check through them and you'll notice what I mean!]. It is a pity that ABC couldn’t punt one more breath in for Eli Stone but the DVD has been long awaited.

One of these days I’m going to remember to pause away from bundled movie sets as the describe quality often seems to be lower with them. I already had each of the fine titles in this bundle, but in DVD format. I view it would be nice to updgade to blu ray. Last night I sat down and compared each blue ray disk in this bundle with my novel dvd (upconverting of course.)

Each blu ray disk in this place does indeed notice better than my older upconverted dvd disks. The colors are better and the images have more detail. That being said, all of the disks in the Christmas bundle lack the “wow” factor of some other blu ray titles (e.g. How the West was Won, The Wild Bunch, Nightmare Before Christmas, 2001: A Status Odyssey, etc.) These disks do not stand out in image quality, and given the hefty trace imprint, that is somewhat disappointing.

To form a long anecdote short, this status is worth buying if you DO NOT possess the movies already. If you do, it may be worth unprejudiced upconverting your standard DVDs. Maybe when the titles are released individually on blu ray, they will fill more impressive recount quality.

I got twisted on Adam-12 when Tv Land aired it a few years ago. It’s one of the best done cop shows that has ever aired on television. It has a serious, straight forward scrutinize at life on the streets, but there is plenty of humor to give it a perfect balance. Dranget and Emergency also blended well. Arnold Schwartzenegger in the role of humorless, ultra-disciplined Soviet police-captain Vanya Danko, teamed with Chicago PD screw-up Art Ritsek (Jim Belushi), to track a Georgean drug kingpin… this is one of Arnold’s greatest, but least-appreciated, action-films. The best scenes occupy location in Russia, in the banya (public bath), over the rooftops around Red Square, in the mafiya cafe. Arnold’s Russian, spoken with his Austrian accent, is ravishing terrific! What impressed me was the film’s discontinuance attention to detail: Even Danko’s handwriting and numbers were authentically Russian-style. The machismo of the personal battle between Ivan Danko and the smuggler was intensely Russian, as was Danko’s unswerving conviction of Soviet superiority. His terse correction of the hotel clerk’s inquire of “Is [Viktor] another Russian, like you? ” Danko: “Soviet.”, is right-on — Georgeans are not Russians, although many Americans don’t know that. The scripting of a Georgean as the loathesome criminal is actually quite revealing, and surely a reflection of the film’s “official” Russian input . Despite the grimness of the region and Arnold’s character, there is plenty of dim humor, mainly provided by Belushi’s portrayal of undisciplined officer Ritsek. The humor frequently contrasts the strictly indoctrinated Soviet structure with the (to Danko) near-anarchy of American freedom. Powerful of the mayhem and carnage wrought during the process of Danko’s personal war defies credibility; as Ritsek puts it: “Why aren’t there any cops around when you need one!” The action genre’s obligatory high-speed pace scene was ludicrous, yet appropriately Russian (everything Russian always seems so grand “bigger”…) . And the protagonists’ exchange in the destroy, in which Vanya gets the better deal, is also typically Russian — and proves that Danko is not so humorless after all. By the contrivance, this movie (like all of Arnold’s action-films) is extremely accepted here, where it has been dubbed into the Russian language. Ironically, in the russkiy version, all the obscenities have been deleted from the dialogue.

Schwarzenegger and James Belushi beget a stout team in this crazed action film. Schwarzenegger plays the serious Captain Ivan Danko, a Russian detective. Opposite him, James Belushi, is the comic cop, Art Ridzik, always worthy for a laugh. Who could guess what would happen when these two got stuck together?

On the downside of the film the beggining is all Russian. You’ll be forced to read English subtitles not able to appreciate any of the visuals, until around ten to twenty minutes into the film. Unless of course you assert Russian.

The final word. If you’re looking for something to do on a plain afternoon, I recommend sitting serve and enjoying Red Heat.

Red Mist, also known as Freakdog (which is a more sterling and sensible title), is an engrossing limited indie alarm flick. Arielle Kebbel (The Uninvited, John Tucker Must Die) stars as Catherine; a young doctor hopeful who, along with her group of fellow med students (including Sarah Carter) accidentally cause the creepy Kenneth (Andrew Lee Potts) to go into a coma. Catherine feels abominable naturally, so she administers an experimental drug to Kenneth with the hopes that he’ll survive, only to collect that it makes him have outer body experiences in which he can posess anyone and rupture brutal vengeance on his wrong-doers. Surprisingly well-filmed and well-acted, Red Mist is a violent and compelling miniature thriller that you will be surprised with. What hurts the film however is that it isn’t suspenseful or scary in the least, but then again, it doesn’t descend to any sort of typical slasher conventions either, which it easily could have. It occasionally plods along as well, but for the most fraction, Red Mist is a worthwhile shocker that is definitely worth giving a chance. Plus, it has the handsome Arielle Kebbel running around in her underwear, and that alone makes anything worth seeing.

This movie is not for epileptics.

You WILL have a seizure like The Simpsons did when they went to Japan.

What we have here is a very “Shocker”-esque flick about “out of body experiences” from the guy who directed the cult hit “Shrooms”.

A group of med students accidentally engage a joke a petite too far,

which lands the mentally-challenged, all-too creepy, epileptic janitor at the college in a deep coma.

One of the students, feeling guilt for dumping him at the hospital,

injects him with an untested drug that revitalizes brain function, but causes out of body experiences.

But not unprejudiced any OOBE,

this drug gives him the ability to fill others.

And of course he uses it to peep out revenge.

Hence the name Red Mist. (A feeling of rage that temporarily clouds one’s judgement.)

There were plenty of deaths in this flick,

all of which, should have/could have been a lot gorier.

Don’t obtain me execrable there WAS some blood.

but not nearly enough to match the viciousness of the deaths themselves.

The one death that should have delivered the most gore, (acid funnel) delivered the least which seemed kind of like a cheap cop-out.

Aside from gore the movie also never seemed to instruct any suspense.

Ok ok maybe the one scene was suspenseful where the mother was standing at the head of the stairs holding the baby,

(subsequently this also happens to be the one scene in the whole film that delivers the red stuff)

but the rest of the movie was straight forward to the point of being predictable.

Anytime anyone was possessed their nose would bleed so there was no surprise.

If that slight enact (nose bleed) were omitted the region might have actually had the chance to pile on some tension.

Essentially; had the gore & suspense been demonstrate.. this flick would have been dynamite,

the acting was gargantuan,

the situation was fascinating enough,

the camera work was that of a sizable budget flick.

It had all the makings of a substantial panic movie,

but unbiased fell flat in the one department that should have made it.

If you’re going to title your film “Red Mist” at least have the decency to expose me some splatter.

3 stars = Worth a rental but not a purchase

Leos Carax’s POLA X is truly one of the most though-provoking films that have approach out in the past decade. Throughout the movie Carax (Lovers on the Bridge, Boy Meets Girl) creates a visual poetry which is both innovative & contemporary. The film may obtain a sombre mood throughout but it engages you to a limit that you commence looking at things the blueprint Carax wanted you to.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Pola X! Click Here

I am inclined to write the review of this movie because of the various negative publicity & misleading reviews it has received over the years. Lawful, this is not your usual run-on-the mill type even in the art house genre, but it is definitely worth a observe. POLA X( based on Herman Melville’s “Pierre, or the Ambiguities”) is actually an acronym of the French title of the movie “Pierre, Ou Les Ambiguities”[P-O-L-A]. The ‘X’ in POLA X derives from the shooting script being Carax’s tenth draft of his screenplay. The protagonist Pierre(Guillaume Depardieu),a young novelist coming from a rich family & a prolific background, is writing his unusual new but is falling short of fresh ideas. His otherwise mundane lifestyle turns upside down when he meets a disheveled gloomy haired girl, Isabelle (Golubeva), who resembles the girl he has been dreaming about for some time. She turns out to be his illegitimate sister, a secret he was kept in gloomy about for all these years. Pierre finds in her the inspiration for newer ideas & an opportunity to shatter out of his routine lifestyle. He breaks his engagement to his sweetheart Lucie (Delphine Chuillot) & embarks on a lunge with Isabelle – to provide her with all the esteem, befriend & protection that the world has denied her & also to stimulate his absorb creative instincts.

It is definitely disappointing to sight that even after so many years of its release, a few minutes sex scene between Pierre & Isabelle seems to win all the attention. It’s proper that it is graphic but it is sensual – innovatively shot with the expend of tricky camera shots, colour & exhaust of light & shadow. Carax didn’t want to perform it eye like one of those “Guide to Sex” videos. I regain the drag of the movie quite appropriate that does justice to the unfolding of the chronicle. The scene at the forest where Isabelle talks about her past seems dead for a first viewing but it settles with you with successive viewings. Isabelle’s fright, insecurity & afflict, which she could not piece with anyone for so long, could be shown in that manner only. Also who can forget the background collect of Scott Walker which supports the sombre mood & haunts you throughout the movie? Generous Cinematography & clever spend of light & shadow techniques makes it a visual treat – completely in sync with the script. In fact this is a film which tries to philosophize its sage visually rather than using long dialogues. I study this film reaching a cult set, may be 25 years down the line, when those Criterion Collection guys will near out with its special edition. But for the time being I will strongly recommend it to those who want a current cinematic experience & a Crash from the usual hundred million budgeted HOLLYWOOD Blockbuster crap.

Pola X is a treasure it or abhor it experience. Motorcycles on winding roads it may have, but these roads are not called “Middle.”

This film, brought to us by the same man who brought us the intense, passionate, unhappy film The Lovers on the Bridge in 1991, revisits some of the same territory of that film here. There is Desperation. Lust. Adore. Blindness. See. Darkness. Light. Prosperity. Intense Poverty. Artists. Their Art. The Loss of that Art. The Extraordinary Need to Recapture It. Hunger. Satisfaction. Illness. Life. Death. Distress. Loss. Intense joy. Bitterness. Jealousy. Regret. All in all, the ingredients of what makes a Sizable, with a capital G Broad, film.

Pola X has a light side and an incredibly unlit and desolate one. The film starkly separates these sunny and gloomy pieces of our hero’s life into two main segments. First we leer the light. When the film opens, we meet Guillaume Depardieu, in his aesthetic villa, with his fair mother, and his splendid fiance. Next to all this is a glorious small computer, next to which lies his attractive itsy-bitsy book, which he wrote when even younger, and which he became instantly famed for writing, a sort of cult figure. He is a comely young man who has everything. Except his writing, except his muse. Because he has reached a point in his life where everything is so stable and ‘flat’ that he is beginning to have anxiety writing, creating, producing. And this is nagging at him, slightly, like a microscopic child tugging softly at his arm for a section of candy or a pat on the head. For a while, though, he is delighted. Blissful smoking a cigarette with his lovely mother on the dazzling sun-dappled lawn, and making adore to his fiance with peaceful passion in her young room in her believe house. Tickled with these creatures of light, these creatures which cannot gawk into him, into his sunless self, his legal self, his strong, artistic, belligerent self which is knocking at his door, waiting to be let out.

All of this changes when he begins having dreams of a mysterious stranger, who is somehow familiar to him. Then, when in town one day with a friend, he sees a woman, a woman who somehow resembles the woman in his dream. She is following him. He follows her. They fetch each other. What happens next begins a great odyssey of obsession, artistic fervor, unlit secrets and their telling, and a manic intensity which takes our young hero, and all those around him and unravels them, slowly, one thread at a time….

This is riveting, appealing French cinema. It asks, among other questions, which is more important: Art, or Life? Without a middle ground to determine from, our hero embarks on a desparate, driven attempt to obtain his Pronounce. As he peels off all the layers of familiarity and comfort, all health and future plans, in the name of writing again, he starts a expressionless, solid crawl out of control, and ends up almost at the point of death. A must-have for every serious (intense) cinema lover. A raw, exorcising cinematic experience. Five Stars.
